Abstract

Advantages and disadvantages of combined drugs are given in the work. The directions of their creation when combining APIs used in one treatment regimen, when one active substance enhances the effect of another or if one active substance prevents/reduces the severity of the adverse reaction of another, are highlighted. Examples of clinical use of combined drugs are described. According to the results of the marketing research of medicinal products in Ukraine, three pharmacological and therapeutic groups have been identified: the agents that affect the cardiovascular system; remedies that affect the gastrointestinal tract and metabolism; means acting on the nervous system; which include the largest number of combined carriages. It is established that among the combined medicines, solid dosage forms (62.63 %) predominate, most of which are presented in the form of tablets, powders, and capsules. The algorithm of the process of creation and research of combined solid dosage forms is proposed. The general methodology for establishing the expediency of the combination of APIs, a differentiated approach to the choice of composition and technology depending on the interaction between components, biopharmaceutical and pharmacological studies, calculation of technical and economic costs is described.
