Effects of Drinking Leilem Leaf Juice as a Water Additive on Performance, Body Fat, and Carbohydrate Production

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how giving broiler chickens leilem leaf juice (Clerodendrum minahassae L.) as a water additive affected the performance, carcass production and abdominal fat. The 100 one-day-old broiler chickens used in the study were fed 75% commercial feed, 22% corn, and 3% coconut oil ad libitum. Chickens as young as one week were treated, and data were collected for four weeks. A completely randomized design (CRD) was used, with four treatments and five replications: R0 is water that does not contain leilem leaf juice (JDL), R1 is 10 milliliters of leilem leaf juice per liter of water, R2 is 20 milliliters of leilem leaf juice JDL per liter of water, and R3 is 30 milliliters of leilem leaf juice per liter of water. Consumption of rations, consumption of drinking water, weight gain, and conversion of rations, final body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat were all measured variables. The analysis of variance was used to analyze the data.
The treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the consumption of rations, consumption of drinking water, weight gain, conversion of rations, final body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, or abdominal fat, according to the findings. Leilem leaf juice (Clerodendrum minahassae L) was found to have a positive effect on final body weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat when administered in drinking water up to 30 milliliters.
